In 2015 in the United States alone, there were 3,978,497 child births, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. However, many of these births did not go as planned. According to a long-term study produced by USA Today, approximately 50,000 women suffer severe injuries during childbirth each year, while 700 of these cases are fatal. The study named the United States as the most dangerous developed nation for childbirth, which has been attributed to the lack of care in our nation’s hospitals.
