Fire Rages through Bronx Neighborhood Engulfing Three Homes

On the afternoon of July 30, 2014, a fast-moving fire ripped through the Wakefield section of the Bronx, spreading from one residence and then to two others next door.

Neighbors first called 911 around 1:55 p.m. when they noticed white smoke coming from a nearby house in. Multiple people were seen escaping from the enflamed residences, including several children. An elderly woman was heroically assisted by neighbors as they were able to escort her away from her engulfed home.
