NHTSA Sounds Alarm on Increase in Motor Vehicle Fatalities

The National Highway Traffic Safety Authority (NHTSA) put out a report stating that the number of motor vehicle fatalities across the United States increased by more than 10% in the first three months of 2021. This continues a disturbing trend that saw the fatality rate increase dramatically throughout 2020, even though the number of vehicles on the road went down. The NHTSA has pledged to take steps to try to reduce this fatality rate, even as the factors that contribute to it remain a serious problem.
