Mara Romano is of counsel to Georgaklis & Mallas, PLLC and has over twenty years of legal experience having been admitted to practice in the State of New York in 1991. Mrs. Romano graduated magna cum laude from Adelphi University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science double majoring in education and music performance.
Mrs. Romano represents both landlords and tenants in the negotiation of retail, office, shopping center, and other commercial spaces. Mrs. Romano also represents sellers and purchasers of retail businesses (restaurants, bars, specialty food stores) including the resolution of franchise and landlord related matters. She also represents sellers and purchasers of real estate including commercial buildings, vacant land, and mixed use involving construction loans, small business loans, 1031 like kind exchanges and traditional residential purchases/sales and refinance transactions.
Mrs. Romano also has civil and commercial litigation experience having appeared in New York’s state and federal courts as well as before the Appellate Division, 2nd Department while an associate at private law firms from 1991 thru 2000.
Mrs. Romano also advises families whose children require special education, speech, occupational and physical therapy services to assist them in obtaining early intervention and pre-school services.
